Yikes!  It’s tomorrow!  I understand everyone had a great time at last month’s FleaFest, hosted by Eva, and held at the studio of Gordon Huether (The Hay Barn) in Napa.  This is, indeed the Flea Jumper’s new home and unless you hear otherwise, you can count on meeting there, at 5 pm, the last Sunday of the month from here on out.  Many, many thanks to Eva for setting this up for us and to Sean Allen for helping us all get to the next level.

Remember, anyone, any skill level is welcome .

1821 Monticello Road, Napa, at 5pm. Click here for a map.

For ideas for new songs to bring, be sure to visit Song Sources and bring along at least 12 copies.

And don’t forget, besides making memorable music, Flea Jumpers like to eat wonderful food  and sip fabulous drinks…….so please bring enough to share….. and bring a chair and a music stand if you have one.  Also, be sure to update your Flea Jumper Songbook with the songs listed in the Song Files.  If you don’t have a copy of the Flea Jumper Songbook, a copy of each song in the Song Files will at least get you off to a very good start.

Wine & Wellness at Beringer

Some of you will remember Kathy Quain, if not from her charming performance with Erich Sylvester and Elaine Herrick at the 2009 Wine Country ‘Ukulele Festival, then from our first holiday gathering at Miner Family Vineyards in 2008.  Kathy will be up in the wine country again, on Sunday, April 25, (it’ll be a busy day for some of us) leading a drum circle at Beringer’s Wine & Wellness Fair.  Here’s the scoop:

Cheers and a toast your health! Meet folks dedicated to the blending of spirituality, wellness, wine, simple pleasures and more. Get to know Sondra Barrett, PhD, author of the book Wine’s Hidden Beauty, and learn about her molecular photographs of wine. Talk with David White, from the WineSpirit Institute, and author of Sippin’ on Top of the World, a book that uses lessons from the vineyard to celebrate life, healthy living, and spiritual living. Listen to Kiki Powers, MS, CNC, Founder of Natural Health Solutions, is a Certified Nutritional Consultant, with 5 Surprising Insights about Wine & Wellness.  “Taste” a variety of different drums.  And,  join the drumming circle in front of the historic Rhine House Mansion.

Kathy, a music therapist and the guiding force behind Music for Therapy (among many other wonderful things)  will be giving drumming lessons and performances from 1 – 3pm.  The drum circle will begin around 3:45.  Drums will be available.

So you will have time to attend both: the drum circle at Beringer AND the FleaFest in Napa.  Beringer Vineyards is located at              2000 Main Street (Highway 29), St. Helena, California 94574.

Wine Country ‘Ukulele Festival

And don’t forget to check out the new Wine Country ‘Ukulele Festival website.  It’s still a work in progress but you might enjoy seeing what workshops we’ll be offering this year and who the instructors are.  It’s quite a line-up. We’ve also added a few items to the festival store, including the logo wineglasses from the Flora Springs Luau and festival posters.

We will be announcing our festival poster contest shortly.  But in the meantime, here’s a chance to win a fabulous ukulele from the wonderful folks at Mya-Moe. Click on the picture for all the details. The deadline is April 30, so you’ll have to act fast.

See you Sunday.  Yikes!  That’s tomorrow.
